CAROLINE LYONS
ACTOR // EDUCATOR // DOULA

I'm Coming Out of Retirement!
"I just need to be there when babies are born!" Six year old Caroline's dream would come true in a sense when I went on to do my first DONA Postpartum doula training in 2019. I would then go on to attend the Manhattan Birth Doula Mentorship program where I became the first certified Postpartum Doula with the organization. My practice began with a baby girl in Brooklyn who would only sleep in her mother's arms and for the next two years I worked with a colorful coat of families supporting them with breastfeeding, sibling care, cooking meals and general household management. I then trained to become a Certified Lactation Support Counselor that enhanced the feeding care I gave. After many names, I finally practiced under Little Lyons Families which felt fitting to the scope of work that I did. Doula work took me across the country TWICE and I went into retirement when I moved to Virginia for my master's degree. But I'm looking to come back in a limited capacity to this beautiful work. If you are welcoming a baby for the first time or the sixth time, let's work together to make that transition as smooth as possible.

NEWBORN CARE AND LACTATION BASICS
$150
I am offering a 2-Hour Virtual Newborn Care and Lactation Basics course that will empower you with tools to know what is to be expected after baby is born and when it is necessary to ask for help. Following this course which will include a presentation, videos, physical demonstrations and question and answer periods, you will receive an email with links, resources, and lists that will prepare you from pregnancy to the fourth trimester.
THIS COURSE INCLUDES:
• Some prenatal preparation for a successful postpartum period.
• The nuts and bolts of feeding baby in whatever way you choose.
• Bathing, soothing, diapering, swaddling, and clothing baby.
I am trauma-informed practitioner dedicated to anti-racist practices and inclusivity. I provide a sliding scale of cost to anyone that wants support but feels restricted by cost. We will discuss your needs during our introductory emails with each other as well as an intake form upon scheduling your session.
POSTPARTUM DOULA CARE

What Our Time Would Look Like Together!
For postpartum care, I would come to your house in shifts of 4-or-6 hours (weekdays 4-hours, weekends 6-hours) and take care of your family. From cooking, cleaning, laundry, baby care, lactation support, sibling care and emotional support, I would be there to serve the needs of your family. My rate is $40 per hour but do not turn any family away because of cost restrictions. I know that part of my pay is in baby snuggles and for that I'm forever grateful!
